Photographed in my calm, light-filled studio, in the heart of Great Dunmow, Essex sessions are natural and beautifully simple, capturing everything from peaceful sleepy moments to those tiny details you never want to forget.
The ideal time for your newborn session is between 5 and 21 days old, while your baby is still in that beautifully, curled-up, sleepy newborn stage. It’s such a tiny window of time.

I'm so excited to meet you! Secure your date by paying a £99 deposit. You will receive a link to your booking portal where you can sign your contract, and view your client guide, and fill in your questionaire.

HOW CAN I BOOK WHEN I DONT KNOW WHEN MY BABY WILL ARRIVE?
Not to worry, when you book you are simply securing a slot in my diary. I always allow plenty of wiggle room for early/late arrivals. All I ask is you to let me know when your baby arrives, and then we will confirm a day for your session.
Newborn sessions are best booked after your 20 week scan. This guarantees you a space in my diary for when your baby is born.
HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION TAKE?
My newborn photography sessions usually last between 2–3 hours, giving us plenty of time to work at your baby’s pace. My style is natural and relaxed, so there’s no rushing and plenty of time for feeding, cuddles and settling whenever needed.
The session flows gently around your baby, allowing me to capture a beautiful variety of natural moments and those tiny newborn details, while keeping the whole experience calm and enjoyable for everyone. Twin Sessions can take slightly longer.
MY BABY HAS ALREADY BEEN BORN AM I TOO LATE?
Not at all! Although my newborn photoshoots are often booked several months in advance, it’s always worth getting in touch.
Babies rarely arrive exactly on schedule, which means I sometimes have last-minute availability when a pre-booked baby arrives earlier or later than expected. If your little one is already here and you’re looking for a newborn photographer in Essex, get in touch as soon as you can and I’ll always do my very best to fit you in.
CAN YOU ALSO INCLUDE MY OTHER CHILDREN IN THE PHOTOSHOOT
Absolutely! Your newborn photoshoot is a family affair, and siblings, dads and even grandparents are very welcome to join in.
I know being in front of the camera might be the last thing on your mind after having a baby, but I promise these are the photographs you and your little ones will treasure for years to come.
Whether it’s tiny sibling cuddles, a proud dad holding his new baby, or simply your whole family together, these moments are such an important part of your newborn story.

What if my baby is fussy on the day?
Please try not to worry.
Theres plenty of time for feeding, changing, cuddles and settling whenever your little one needs it.
With years of experience photographing newborns, I’m used to little ones having unsettled moments. We simply take our time, follow their cues and let them lead the way.
Some of the most beautiful photographs happen in those quiet moments in between. Snuggled safely in your arms, exactly where they want to be.
What if my other children don't behave?
Honestly, I don’t expect them to! Children aren’t meant to sit perfectly still, smile on command and behave like little models.
Please don’t worry or feel embarrassed if they’re feeling shy, silly or simply not in the mood on the day. I’ve seen it all before! We’ll take our time, use a few tricks when needed and capture those gorgeous sibling moments without forcing them.
Sometimes a little bit of chaos makes the best memories!
How long does it take for my photos to be ready?
Your beautifully edited images will usually be ready within 2–3 weeks of your newborn photoshoot. Once they’re ready, I’ll contact you to arrange a time to return to the studio for your in-person viewing appointment.
I truly believe your photographs deserve to be experienced properly, which is why all collections are selected and purchased during your viewing. You’ll see your baby’s images presented at their very best, and I’ll be there to personally guide you through choosing the photographs and collection you love most.
Images are not available for selection through an online gallery.
If you would prefer not to return to the studio for a viewing appointment, you can choose to upgrade to the full collection of images on the day of your photoshoot. Your finished photographs will then be delivered to you via a private online gallery, so there’s no need to return to the studio.
As a little extra, families who choose their collection or upgrade to the full image collection in advance or at their session will receive priority editing, with their gallery ready within 48 hours.
Please note that the full-image upgrade must be selected and paid for at the time of your session to qualify for online delivery and priority editing.
